What are racial narratives?

And how do they operate in our daily lives?

Here are 3 definitions we’ve been working on. It’s a free resource for you!

  1. Racial narratives, or race-based narratives, are a set of stories that reinforce dominant perceptions of a manufactured Other;

  2. Racial narratives are produced and reinforced through individual, interpersonal, institutional, cultural attitudes and articulations;

  3. Embedded in racial narratives are intersecting stories about the socio-economic status, morality and educational experiences 
    of a racial group.
